​Pilots and Port require the following:

• Harbour pilotage is compulsory 

• The maximum draft in the approach channel to Summerside is 8.0m (high tide) 

  • ​Approach channel depths are 6.7m per chart datum​

  • 0.7m is applied for under keel clearance

  • Tidal range in Summerside is 1.5m-2.0m​

• All cargo vessel over 190m LOA, must be approved by local pilots and port administration

• All cargo vessels entering Summerside Harbour must have a bow thruster

• The maximum beam is 25m

• Any vessel not meeting these parameters must consult with the Port and the Pilots to determine if compensating factors are present to permit the vessel to safety enter the Port

• Berthage information:

  • 190 m west berth with a depth of 8.4m (per chart datum)

  • 190 m berth with a depth of 6.2m (per chart datum)

  • 66 m berth with a depth of 6.5m (per chart datum)
